Prayer Devotion: Lord Show Me The Way

by | Jan 8, 2016 | DEVOTIONS

God is faithful even when we are not. He is an ever-present help, and asks us to come before Him without fear. It is why we can offer honest prayers. I invite you to make this one your own.
Lord, make a way, but not just any way. Make the way You have for me. Forge the path before me. Make me blind to all the other ways and all the other paths, other than the one You planned for me to walk in.

I am willing to say “no” when you ask Me to. I am willing to say “yes” when you need Me to. But, still, there are so many distractions and choices and opportunities. I don’t want to waste any precious time on the wrong ones.

Draw me closer to You. Help me know You more, so when it’s of You, I recognize Your handiwork. Your ways are higher and Your thoughts are higher, I know. It’s why I earnestly seek and deeply desire Your wisdom and desperately need discernment to know and see and do.

And when that new thing You’ve done and the opportunities You have given and the blessings You have poured seem like heaven on earth, and are everything I hoped for—please, always and forever be my greatest desire. Help me pursue You more than I pursue anything. Help me want You more than I want anything else.

My eyes are fixed on You. Show me the way. Show me Your way.

Go Deeper: 2 Timothy 2:13, Hebrews 4:16, Proverbs 4:3-5, Ephesians 2:10.
