LIVE UNDISTRACTED

by: Michele-Lyn Ault

Live. Undistracted. Maybe it’s not about screen time as much as it is *screening* our time.

To screen our time means to protect it. It means to decide if it is suitable for a particular use. I am as guilty in neglecting the latter–screening time–and spending too much on the former–screen time–as any one of you.

Single-Minded–that’s my theme, or one word for this year. It’s more about being *led* by the Spirit, than being *lured* by all that vies for my attention than anything else.

As we begin our week, which for us is about purging our soul, let’s think about what may be causing the chaos, rush and unrest within.

“Life isn’t an emergency. Life isn’t 20 open screens and one flickering attention span. Life is a gift. Crazy grace. And this, this is the only way to slow time:

When you fully enter time’s swift current, when you enter into the current moment with the weight of all your attention, you slow the torrent with the weight of you all here. You only live the full life when you live fully in the gift of this moment.”– Ann Voskamp
